What is fair trade? Why should I buy it?
Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards in areas related to the production of a wide variety of goods. It focuses in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts, coffee, tea, and cocoa.
The movement is overseen by large organizations such as the Fair Trade Federation (www.fairtradefederation.org) and IFAT(www.ifat.org), and in Cambodia we work with The Artisans’ Association of Cambodia (AAC), a fair trade association that provides support to over 40 such handicraft groups – groups that often work with some of the country’s most vulnerable people. We follow these principles and are in the process of being a certified fair trade shop.

How do I find a specific item?
To find a specific item, enter the item name or item number in the Search field at the bottom right hand of every page.
Is the information I give you secure?
All orders are encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology on both your end and ours. SSL encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. In order for SSL to work, you must use an SSL-enabled browser. Please note: email is not encrypted and is not considered a secure means of transmitting credit card information.
Can you tell me the availability of a specific item?
At Nikaya, we work hard to keep our website up to date. Generally, if an item is out of stock, we will temporarily remove it from the site. Beyond this, we are not able to respond to specific requests for availability unless you are looking to make a large quantity order (20 or more of any one item). To confirm availability for large orders, please send an email to customerservice@nikayahandcrafted.com.
Do you charge taxes?
As a California based business, Nikaya charges 8.25% tax on all orders shipped to California. We do not charge sales tax outside of California.

Nikaya accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Paypal.

What are the benefits of creating an account?
Creating an account will allow you to save items in your shopping cart, view the status of your orders, save up to 5 shipping addresses, and sign up to receive Nikaya emails or newsletters. Creating an account is free.
What if I forgot my login or password?
Your login is your email address. If you have forgotten your password, please access the login screen and click on the link titled "Password forgotten? Click here." Your password will be sent to the email address on the account.
How do I update my existing account?
Simply log into your account and select "My Account" (at the top of every page) to update your mailing or shipping addresses, newsletter preferences or to change your password.
